Hours: 40 hours per week | Monday to Friday
Salary: £39,500 per annum (not pro rata)
Contract: Fixed Term | Term Time Only

About the Role

We are seeking an inspiring Secondary SEN Teacher to join our specialist setting, where you'll play a vital role in supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) to achieve meaningful academic, social and personal outcomes. This is more than just a teaching role. It's an opportunity to transform lives, build confidence, nurture independence and help young people overcome barriers to learning in a supportive, child-centred environment.

As a Secondary SEN Teacher, you will deliver engaging, personalised learning that meets the individual needs of pupils, enabling them to make progress both in and beyond the classroom. Working closely with teaching assistants, therapists, families and the wider multidisciplinary team, you'll create a positive and inclusive learning experience that allows every pupil to succeed.

You will use creativity, patience and specialist SEND approaches to support pupils with diverse communication, sensory, emotional, social and learning needs, helping them develop the skills they need for lifelong success.

What you will be doing

Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual pupil needs and EHCP outcomes.
Creating a safe, structured and nurturing learning environment where pupils feel valued and supported.
Monitoring, assessing and celebrating pupil progress, including small-step achievements.
Supporting pupils' emotional regulation, wellbeing and personal development through positive, relationship-based approaches.Working collaboratively with families, therapists and external professionals to ensure a joined-up approach to pupil support.
Contributing to annual reviews, reports and individual learning plans.
Leading and supporting classroom staff to deliver high-quality learning experiences.
Promoting independence, communication skills and preparation for adulthood.
Supporting curriculum development and contributing to school improvement initiatives.

What you will bring

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification required.
Experience delivering engaging, inclusive teaching and adapting learning to meet individual needs.
Knowledge of SEND and a commitment to helping pupils achieve their full potential.
Strong behaviour management skills and an understanding of positive behaviour support.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with families and professionals.
Driving licence required

Desirable:

Experience working within a specialist SEND setting.
Specialist SEND training or qualifications.
Experience leading a subject area or curriculum initiative.
