Job Title: CNC Miller Programmer Location: Birkenhead Pay: £18.00 per hour (negotiable for highly skilled candidates – up to £19.50 per hour) Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Hours: 38 hours per week Working Hours: Monday to Thursday: 8:00am – 4:30pm Friday: 8:00am – 2:00pm Regular overtime available – paid at 1.5x hourly rate 33 days holiday (including bank holidays) About the Role We are currently recruiting for an experienced CNC Miller Programmer/Setter to join a well-established precision engineering firm based in Birkenhead. If you have strong experience with Hurco WinMax and Fanuc controls, and are confident using CAD/CAM software such as OneCNC and SolidWorks, this could be an excellent next step in your career. Key Responsibilities Programming, setting and operating CNC milling machines (Hurco & Fanuc) Creating and improving CNC programs both on-machine and offline Machining one-off, high-precision components unaided from a drawing Reading and interpreting engineering drawings to produce high-quality components Carrying out routine machine maintenance Ensuring all work meets internal quality standards Liaising with colleagues and the production team to meet deadlines and resolve issues efficiently Essential Experience & Skills Minimum 5 years’ experience as a CNC Miller Programmer Strong programming skills, ideally using Hurco WinMax and Fanuc controls Competent with CAD/CAM software, particularly OneCNC and SolidWorks Solid mechanical knowledge and understanding of machining principles Strong attention to detail Ability to work independently Qualifications Certificate of Higher Education or equivalent preferred Relevant technical training and/or a time-served apprenticeship in engineering or machining What’s Next?
