With a strong reputation for delivering sustainable solutions across infrastructure, renewable energy, residential, commercial and environmental projects, the organisation offers the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of high-profile developments throughout the UK.As part of continued growth, the business is looking to appoint an experienced hydrology professional who can provide technical expertise, manage projects and contribute to the development of innovative water management solutions.Your new role As a Senior Hydrological Consultant, you will play a key role in delivering hydrology and flood risk services across a broad range of projects. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will provide technical leadership, manage project delivery and support clients throughout the planning and development process.Your responsibilities will include:Preparing Flood Risk Assessments (FRA) and Drainage Strategies.Undertaking hydrological and hydraulic assessments using industry-standard software.Supporting the design and implementation of Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS).Conducting flood modelling, catchment analysis and surface water assessments.Providing technical input into Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA).Liaising with regulators, local authorities, clients and project stakeholders.Managing project budgets, programmes and deliverables.Mentoring and supporting junior consultants within the team.Assisting with business development activities and proposal preparation.What you'll need to succeed A degree in Hydrology, Geography, Environmental Science, Civil Engineering or a related discipline.Demonstrable experience delivering hydrology, flood risk and drainage projects within a consultancy environment.Strong knowledge of UK flood risk policy, guidance and legislation.Experience producing Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Strategies.Familiarity with industry-standard hydrological and hydraulic modelling software.Excellent technical report writing skills.Strong communication and project management abilities.A full UK driving licence.Desirable experience includes:Chartered status or progression towards chartership with a relevant professional institution.Experience supporting major infrastructure, energy or development projects.Knowledge of Environmental Impact Assessment processes.Experience managing client relationships and project budgets.What you'll get in return Competitive salary package.Hybrid and flexible working arrangements.Generous annual leave allowance.Pension scheme.Professional membership fees paid.Structured training and development programmes.Employee wellbeing initiatives.Clear career progression opportunities into Principal and Associate-level positions.What you need to do now If you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV, or call us now.
