Employment Lawyer – Fully Remote

North Northamptonshire Council is seeking an experienced Employment Lawyer to join their Legal Services team on a full-time, fully remote basis. This is an excellent opportunity to support a busy local authority with a varied caseload of employment law matters.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality legal advice on a wide range of employment law issues including disciplinary, grievance, redundancy, TUPE, and tribunal matters
• Manage and conduct employment tribunal cases, including preparation of documentation and representation where required
• Advise HR and senior management on complex employment matters and risk mitigation
• Draft and review policies, procedures, and legal documents in line with current legislation
• Support organisational change projects and restructuring initiatives

Requirements

• Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or CILEX with significant post-qualification experience in employment law
• Proven experience working within local government or the public sector is highly desirable
• Strong knowledge of UK employment legislation and tribunal processes
• Ability to manage a varied caseload independently and meet deadlines
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Role Details

• Contract Length: 3 months initially
• Working Pattern: Full-time (37 hours per week)
• Location: Fully remote
