These meetings include industry conferences, bespoke events, and government roundtables held around the world. We are recruiting a Senior Business Development Manager to lead Custom Events across the Americas region from our London office.  This role will also be responsible for growing event sponsorship revenue  across our Americas region. ResponsibilitiesOwn a personal sales target and regional (Americas) revenue target region for bespoke eventsGrow a new client base in the region across key accounts Develop a renewal strategy for existing clientsWork with the partnership sales team to maximize the cross-sell opportunities Liaise with marketing, programming, operations, and the Global Events teamManage client relationships throughout lifecycle of the project as well as work on renewal discussionsMonitor and report on personal and regional custom event revenue in the regionDevelop an understanding of the Economist brand’s positioning in the global market as well ensuring adherence to editorial guidelinesWho you areTrack record of building sales revenue and developing new business Ability to work independently to create new business opportunitiesExperience in event-related sponsorship sales is essentialExperience in working with client-focused teams in a consultative project or events environment Excellent people and project management skills Experience presenting to and negotiating with senior decision-makers of large multi-national corporationsAbility to generate ideas and transform good ideas into practice A good team player with the ability to think strategically and tacticallyFlexibility to travelWorking ArrangementsThe majority of our roles operate on a hybrid working pattern, with 3+ days office attendance required. AI usage for your applicationWe are an innovative organisation that encourages the use of technology.
