St Albans, Hertfordshire 3-Month Fixed-Term Contract - Possibility to extend Up to £65k pro rata The Opportunity: Our client, a well-established pharmaceutical manufacturing business, is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join their team on a 3-month contract. This is a hands-on role focused on reviewing, strengthening, and embedding Health & Safety compliance across the organisation, ensuring full adherence to UK HSE legislation and regulatory requirements. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive Health & Safety professional who can quickly identify compliance gaps, implement practical solutions, and drive continuous improvement within a regulated manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive Health & Safety audits across production, laboratory, warehouse, office and associated facilities. Review and update Health & Safety policies, SOPs, risk assessments, and COSHH documentation. Work closely with operational teams to implement compliant and sustainable Health & Safety processes. Strengthen COSHH management and GMP-compliant handling of chemicals and materials. Review incident reporting procedures and support robust root cause investigations and corrective actions Support Health & Safety representatives and contribute to ongoing safety improvement initiatives. Provide regular progress reports and recommendations to senior leadership.Within the contract period, you will: Complete full Health & Safety and compliance audits. Implement improvements required to achieve HSE compliance. Close critical and high-risk compliance gaps. Ensure documentation is updated and inspection-ready. Establish sustainable systems and processes that maintain compliance beyond the contract period.About YouThe successful candidate will possess: Qualifications: NEBOSH, IOSH or equivalent Health & Safety qualificationExperience: Proven experience within Health & Safety, Compliance, or Audit-focused roles Strong knowledge of COSHH and UK Health & Safety regulations. Experience delivering compliance improvements within GMP or highly regulated environments. Pharmaceutical, laboratory, manufacturing or similar regulated industry experience would be highly advantageous.
