The Opportunity:
Our client, a well-established pharmaceutical manufacturing business, is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join their team on a 3-month contract. This is a hands-on role focused on reviewing, strengthening, and embedding Health & Safety compliance across the organisation, ensuring full adherence to UK HSE legislation and regulatory requirements.
This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive Health & Safety professional who can quickly identify compliance gaps, implement practical solutions, and drive continuous improvement within a regulated manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive Health & Safety audits across production, laboratory, warehouse, office and associated facilities.
Review and update Health & Safety policies, SOPs, risk assessments, and COSHH documentation.
Work closely with operational teams to implement compliant and sustainable Health & Safety processes.
Strengthen COSHH management and GMP-compliant handling of chemicals and materials.
Review incident reporting procedures and support robust root cause investigations and corrective actions
Support Health & Safety representatives and contribute to ongoing safety improvement initiatives.
Provide regular progress reports and recommendations to senior leadership.Within the contract period, you will:
Complete full Health & Safety and compliance audits.
Implement improvements required to achieve HSE compliance.
Close critical and high-risk compliance gaps.
Ensure documentation is updated and inspection-ready.
Establish sustainable systems and processes that maintain compliance beyond the contract period.About YouThe successful candidate will possess:
Qualifications:
NEBOSH, IOSH or equivalent Health & Safety qualificationExperience:
Proven experience within Health & Safety, Compliance, or Audit-focused roles
Strong knowledge of COSHH and UK Health & Safety regulations.
Experience delivering compliance improvements within GMP or highly regulated environments.
Pharmaceutical, laboratory, manufacturing or similar regulated industry experience would be highly advantageous. What you need to do now if you're interested in this role:
