Introduction forManufacturing Engineer

We are recruiting for a Manufacturing Engineer to join an established engineering and manufacturing business in Cramlington.

This is a hands-on manufacturing engineering role focused on improving processes, supporting production performance and driving continuous improvement across a busy industrial site. The role would suit someone with experience in manufacturing engineering, process improvement or industrial engineering who enjoys solving technical problems and improving efficiency, quality and output.

Responsibilities forManufacturing Engineer

As Manufacturing Engineer, you will support the stability, performance and development of manufacturing operations. You will work closely with production, quality and maintenance teams to improve processes, analyse performance data and implement practical engineering solutions across forging and machining operations.

Improve and optimise manufacturing processes to increase efficiency, quality and output
Provide engineering support to production teams and resolve technical shopfloor issues
Analyse OEE, scrap, downtime and rework data to identify improvement opportunities
Support root cause analysis, corrective actions and structured problem-solving activity
Create and maintain SOPs, control plans, work instructions and process documentation
Support process validation, new product introduction, tooling readiness and production trials

Requirements forManufacturing Engineer

The ideal candidate will have experience in manufacturing engineering or process improvement within an industrial, automotive, heavy engineering or regulated manufacturing environment. You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing setting and able to balance practical shopfloor support with structured improvement work.

Degree, HNC or HND in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Production Engineering or similar
Experience within manufacturing, industrial, automotive or heavy engineering environments
CAD experience with the ability to read, interpret or update technical drawings
Strong understanding of process optimisation and Lean manufacturing principles
Experience improving production performance and resolving technical manufacturing issues
Knowledge of OEE, scrap, downtime, rework and structured problem-solving tools
Practical, analytical and solutions-focused approach with strong communication skills
