Building Structures Engineer Salary: £36,000-£45,000 Employment type: Permanent Sector: Infrastructure and Ministry of Justice buildings We are recruiting a Building Structures Engineer for a leading UK infrastructure consultancy.

The role will support the design and delivery of infrastructure and Ministry of Justice projects,including prisons and other secure operational facilities.

Applications are welcomed from developing engineers at Assistant level as well as established Building Structures Engineers.

The successful candidate will be appointed at the appropriate grade based on their experience.

Key responsibilities
* Produce structural designs,calculations,drawings and technical documentation.
* Develop safe,practical and compliant structural engineering solutions.
* Support projects from feasibility and site survey through detailed design,construction and handover.
* Assess existing buildings and develop refurbishment,alteration and strengthening solutions.
* Coordinate structural designs with architects,building-services engineers and other disciplines.
* Use structural analysis and three-dimensional modelling software.
* Undertake site surveys,inspections and technical assessments.
* Prepare reports,specifications and tender information.
* Identify design hazards and support compliance with CDM Regulations.
* Manage assigned work against quality,cost and programme requirements.
* Liaise with clients,contractors,suppliers and project stakeholders.
* Support and,where appropriate,guide junior members of the team.

About you You will have:
* A degree or equivalent qualification in Civil or Structural Engineering.
* Experience producing structural designs and calculations.
* Knowledge of steel,concrete,masonry and timber structures.
* Familiarity with Structural Eurocodes and Building Regulations.
* Experience using structural design and analysis software.
* Familiarity with Tekla Structural Designer,Tekla Tedds or comparable software.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* The ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
* Incorporated or Chartered status,or a commitment to achieving professional registration.

Previous consultancy experience would be beneficial,although candidates from contractor,public-sector or wider engineering environments will also be considered.

Experience involving prisons,courts,government buildings,defence,healthcare,education or other operationally sensitive estates would be advantageous.

Candidates must be able to obtain the necessary Ministry of Justice security clearance. xwzovoh
