Freelance Site Engineer 📍 Swindon 💼 Freelance – 30 Weeks 💷 Competitive Day Rate 🏗️ Large-Scale Commercial Development We are currently seeking an experienced Freelance Site Engineer to join a large-scale commercial development in the Swindon area. Working for an established main contractor, you will be responsible for the engineering requirements across the project, with works including foundations, concrete slabs, drainage and associated external works. This is a 30-week freelance opportunity suited to an Engineer with a strong background delivering commercial or similar building projects. Key Responsibilities • Setting out foundations, drainage, slabs and associated external works. • Carrying out surveys, levels and dimensional checks throughout the project. • Managing QA documentation, inspection records and as-built information. • Ensuring works are delivered in accordance with drawings, specifications and tolerances. • Liaising with the Site Manager, subcontractors and design team to resolve technical issues. • Checking subcontractor setting out and completed works. • Monitoring quality standards and identifying potential issues before they impact programme. • Supporting the site management team with the planning and coordination of works. Requirements • Previous experience working as a Site Engineer on commercial or similar building projects. • Strong setting out experience covering foundations, drainage and concrete slabs. • Competent using robotic total stations and GPS equipment. • Good understanding of QA procedures and as-built documentation. • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications. • CSCS card. • Own setting out equipment would be advantageous but is not essential
