Commercial Electrician

Commercial Electrician £40,000 to £45,000 Manchester/ Preston/ Surrounding 7:30am - 4:00pm Stable, profitable business with around £20M annual turnover. The Role As a Commercial Electrician, you’ll be responsible for carrying out electrical maintenance, fault finding, repairs and smaller installation works across a range of commercial sites. The role will be predominantly focused on keeping electrical systems safe, operational and compliant, responding to faults and carrying out repairs where required. You’ll also complete smaller electrical works, installations and component replacements as part of wider M&E projects. The role sits within the company's M&E department, so alongside general commercial electrical work, you’ll be involved in the electrical side of heating and cooling systems, including wiring and connecting heat pumps and associated M&E equipment. The work will be predominantly across healthcare environments, alongside wider commercial and industrial sites. You’ll therefore need to be comfortable working in professional environments where safety, communication and minimising disruption are particularly important. This is a hands-on role within a long-standing business with over 150 staff, with a strong support network around you. You’ll have a dedicated helpdesk and call-out manager handling initial calls, allowing you to focus on diagnosing and resolving issues on site. Key Commercial Electrician Responsibilities Carry out reactive electrical maintenance and fault finding across commercial and healthcare sites. Diagnose electrical faults and identify the cause of issues. Complete electrical repairs and restore systems safely and efficiently. Carry out planned and preventative electrical maintenance where required. Complete smaller electrical installation works and component replacements. Carry out electrical work as part of wider M&E projects, including wiring and connecting heating and cooling equipment. Install and connect electrical supplies and associated controls for heat pumps and other M&E equipment. Safely carry out isolations and work on electrical systems in line with the required procedures. Access and work within LV switch rooms and electrical panels where required. Respond to call-outs and attend sites to investigate and resolve electrical issues. Work alongside mechanical engineers and other trades to support the delivery of wider M&E works. Ensure all work is completed safely, professionally and to the required standards. Complete relevant paperwork and report any further works or issues identified on site.
