Consultant in Oncology – Lung & Sarcoma

12 month Fixed Term Contract

This is an exciting opportunity to join the South West Wales Cancer Centre, a highly specialised regional service with advanced radiotherapy, SACT, clinical trials, and strong academic links with Swansea University.

Responsibilities

• Deliver SACT for lung cancer and sarcoma patients
• Participate in lung and sarcoma MDTs (Monday & Wednesday mornings)
• Manage approximately 200 new lung cancer patients and 25 new sarcoma patients per year
• Provide cross‑cover for lung oncology colleagues
• Support junior doctors, CNS teams, pharmacists, and SPRs
• Contribute to service development, governance, and audits
• Participate in the 1:22 non‑resident on‑call rota
• Engage in teaching, training, and research activities

Essential Qualifications

• MBBS or equivalent medical degree
• Full GMC registration with a licence to practise
• Valid Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check or PVG check, or willingness to undergo one as part of the registration process
• UK Right to Work
• Strong communication and teamworking skills

Desirable Qualifications

• CCT in Oncology (or within 6 months of achieving it)
