Assistant Management Accountant Morley, Leeds | £34,000 | Full-time, Office-based | Permanent We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Management Accountant to join an established finance team based in Morley, Leeds. This is a great opportunity for an ambitious finance professional looking to develop their accounting experience within a supportive team, gaining hands-on exposure across month-end, balance sheet reconciliations, VAT, audit, tax and financial reporting. Reporting to the Senior Accountant, you will play an important role in supporting the day-to-day finance function while developing your technical knowledge and experience. The Role Your responsibilities will include: * Managing overhead cost lines, including supporting schedules, accruals and prepayments * Maintaining IFRS 16 schedules * Processing group accounts into Cognos for consolidation * Creating recharge invoices * Supporting month-end statement batch creation * Revaluing open transactions for changes in foreign exchange rates * Producing cost reports and financial information for key stakeholders * Managing balance sheet accounts and completing detailed reconciliations * Preparing and submitting VAT returns in line with HMRC requirements * Supporting the external audit process, including preparing relevant information and schedules * Preparing tax packs and supporting documentation * Assisting with month-end and year-end close * Responding to finance-related queries and providing operational support * Supporting the wider finance team and providing cover where required * Assisting with ad-hoc financial analysis and accounting projects * Contributing to process improvements and wider finance projects About You We're looking for someone with a solid grounding in accounting who is keen to continue developing their career. You should be comfortable working with financial information, reconciliations and month-end processes, with good attention to detail and the ability to manage your workload effectively. This role would suit someone who is looking to progress from an Assistant Accountant / Accounts Assistant position into a broader management accounting role.
