Teaching Assistant - SEN Unit (Maternity Cover)

Location: North Tyneside Pay Rate: £100 - £110 per day Contract: Full Time Start Date: ASAP Duration: Until June 2027 PK Education are currently recruiting on behalf of a welcoming primary school in North Tyneside for a Teaching Assistant to provide maternity cover within their dedicated SEN Unit. This rewarding role involves supporting a small group of pupils, with a maximum of 12 children, who have a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff to create a positive, engaging, and nurturing learning environment where every child can thrive. The Ideal Candidate Will: Have experience working within Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) through to Year 5. Be confident supporting children with a variety of SEND needs. Enjoy getting involved in play-based learning and interacting with children at their level. Be energetic, enthusiastic, and highly engaging, with the ability to capture and maintain children's interest. Be comfortable participating in sensory activities, outdoor play, and hands-on learning experiences. Not be afraid to get messy and fully immerse themselves in activities that excite and motivate children. Have a patient, caring, and adaptable approach to supporting learning and development. The Role: Full-time maternity cover position until June 2027. Based within a specialist SEN Unit in a primary school setting. Supporting children with a range of additional needs. Working as part of a dedicated and supportive team. Creating positive learning experiences through creative, child-centred activities.
