About the role

Marc Daniels is working with a growing manufacturing business to hire a FP&A Manager to design, build, and run the FP&A function from the ground up. This is a high-impact role for a commercially minded finance professional with strong manufacturing experience who wants to shape how the business plans, forecasts, and makes decisions. The role You will own the end-to-end setup of FP&A, creating the processes, models, and reporting that connect finance with operations, supply chain, and commercial teams. Key responsibilities will include: · Designing and implementing the FP&A framework: annual budget, rolling forecasts, monthly re-forecasts, and long-range planning tailored to a manufacturing environment. · Building driver-based financial models for volume, mix, price, yield, scrap, labour, and overheads to support operational decision-making. · Leading monthly performance reviews with site/operations leaders, explaining variances (PPV, labour, efficiency, absorption, scrap) and driving actions. · Developing standard cost roll-ups, product and customer profitability analysis, and make-vs-buy / capacity scenario modelling. · Creating management packs, dashboards, and KPIs that give clear visibility of plant performance, margins, and cash. · Partnering with operations, supply chain, and commercial teams to support pricing, investment cases (CAPEX/ROI), and productivity programmes. · Establishing data sources, templates, and ways of working with GL/controlling/operations to ensure one version of the truth. · Coaching non-finance leaders on how to use FP&A outputs to run the business. What you'll bring · Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) · Proven FP&A experience within manufacturing (ideally multi-site or complex BOM/standard cost environments). · Track record of setting up or significantly transforming FP&A processes, not just maintaining them. · Strong grasp of manufacturing P&L drivers: standard costing, variances, yield, OEE, capacity, and cost-to-serve. · Advanced Excel and modelling skills; experience with ERP (e.g. SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) and BI tools (Power BI, etc.) is highly desirable. · Ability to translate complex operational data into clear, actionable insights for senior leaders. · Hands-on, pragmatic style with the confidence to challenge and influence across the business
