Workshop Operations Supervisor Location: Bromley Depot (Baths Road, BR2 9RB) Salary: Up to £52,249 per annum (depending on experience) + Veolia Benefits Breakroom Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday Breakroom Shift Pattern: Rotating shifts (6:30 AM – 15:30 PM & 09:00 – 18:00) About The Company Contek Recruitment Solutions are collaborating with our client who are looking for a proactive, skilled Workshop Operations Supervisor to join their team at the Bromley Depot and help keep our essential fleet running safely and efficiently. The Role As Workshop Operations Supervisor, you will be the key operational lead on the shop floor, overseeing technician productivity, managing job allocations, and carrying out hands-on repairs. You will ensure all commercial vehicles (including HGV municipal fleet and third-party vehicles) meet high industry and safety standards. Key Responsibilities: * Team Leadership & Workflow: Act as the first point of contact for workshop technicians, assigning daily jobs, overseeing shift handovers, and maintaining team productivity above target (80%). * Maintenance & Diagnostics: Perform vehicle diagnostics, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical repairs, alongside regular HGV MOT prep and inspections. * Operations Management: Oversee job card processing, contractor management, tire services, and weekly safety/compliance audits. * Compliance: Ensure full compliance with DVSA guidelines, MOT regulations, and health & safety policies. What We’re Looking For Essential: * Qualifications: NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent). Breakroom * Technical Experience: Deep understanding of HGV fleet diagnostics, MOT inspection standards, and vehicle systems. * Skills: Strong leadership, decision-making, and IT skills for managing workshop management software. Breakroom Desirable: * HGV Class 1 or 2 driving licence. Breakroom * IRTEC accreditation or Counterbalance Forklift licence. Breakroom * Experience with refuse collection vehicles (RCVs) or plant equipment.
