About the role
A global manufacturer of precision machined components is developing a new product for the aerospace & defence sectors and has a new vacancy for a CNC Engineer. Working in the R&D new product development division, you will produce small batch prototype products and candidates are sought with experience programming, setting and operating CNC Lathes.
The Role
Programming, setting, operating when CNC Lathes.
Work with the design & development team on new product development.
Carry out first-off and in-process inspections using measuring equipment.
Verification & validation of machining strategies and inspection methods.
Training of operators to operate machinery & one to one training on job operations.
Assist the project team with the Industrialisation from product development to production.
Process optimisation to optimise product quality and productivity.
Work with tooling suppliers to optimise consumable costs
Contribute to process improvement initiatives.
The Person
Apprentice trained with minimum 5 years’ experience in a machine shop environment.
FANUC CNC lathe programming experience.
Good understanding of machining speeds & feeds for Exotic materials.
Knowledge of CAD-CAM (AutoCad and/or Solidworks desirable).
Must be computer literate and have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Excellent communication skills
