Contract Type: Full-time, Long-Term/Temporary
Salary: £108-£115 per day (dependent on experience)
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 4:00pm

We are working alongside a well-respected secondary school in the Bury area that is seeking to recruit a reliable and dedicated Special Needs Assistant to join their team from September 2026.
The school places a strong emphasis on inclusion and student well being, ensuring that all pupils receive the support they need to succeed both academically and socially. With a structured and supportive environment, staff are committed to building positive relationships and fostering a culture of respect and achievement.
The Role
As a Special Needs Assistant, you will provide essential support to students with a range of additional needs, enabling them to fully engage with their education and reach their individual potential.
Key Responsibilities:
Support students with special educational needs on a one-to-one basis and in small groups
Assist teachers in delivering lessons that are accessible and inclusive
Help implement individual support plans and learning strategies
Encourage positive behaviour and support emotional regulation
Promote independence and confidence in students
Liaise effectively with teaching staff, SENCO, and other professionals
The Ideal Candidate Will:
Have experience working with young people, ideally within a school or SEN setting
Demonstrate patience, resilience, and a caring approach
Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills
Be confident supporting behaviour and diverse learning needs
Be proactive, adaptable, and committed to supporting student development
Essential Requirements:
Right to work in the UK
Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
