We are currently looking for an experienced Asbestos Laboratory Analyst to join our team on an ongoing basis.

The successful candidate will be responsible for analysing bulk asbestos samples, identifying asbestos-containing materials and ensuring all laboratory testing is carried out in accordance with industry standards and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Analyse bulk samples for the presence of asbestos.

*

Carry out asbestos identification using stereo and polarised light microscopy (PLM).

*

Prepare and examine samples in accordance with laboratory procedures.

*

Accurately record and report analytical results.

*

Maintain laboratory records and quality control procedures.

*

Work in accordance with UKAS and ISO 17025 requirements.

Candidate Requirements

*

Previous experience working within an asbestos laboratory.

*

BOHS P401 qualification or equivalent.

*

Practical experience in bulk asbestos analysis.

*

Knowledge of stereo microscopy and PLM.

*

Understanding of UKAS-accredited laboratory procedures.

*

Good attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
