Job Type: Contract, Inside IR35

Rate: £20-£25 per hour Umbrella OR £14-£19 per hour PAYE

Duration: 1-year rolling contract

The Role

Our client has an exciting opportunity for a Junior Commercial Analyst to join our UK Tendering & Pre-Construction function in Manchester.

The Junior Commercial Analyst will work closely with the Head of Pre-Construction & Tendering (UK), supporting commercial analysis and continuous improvement across the tendering process.

This is an analytical and commercially focused role where you will help improve the consistency, quality and commercial accuracy of tenders while developing resource capacity forecasts based on the live project pipeline.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Junior Commercial Analyst, you will review live and completed tenders for process compliance, consistency and commercial accuracy. Analysing cost build-ups, escalation/indexation, contingency and risk provisions.

Comparing tender pricing against previously delivered projects to identify inconsistencies and commercial risks. Reviewing cable schedules and project quantities to help mitigate design risk.

Developing Excel-based resource capacity forecasting models. Applying probability weighting to project pipelines and producing scenario analysis.Forecasting future resource and headcount requirements.

What We're Looking For

The successful Junior Commercial Analyst will be commercially minded, analytical and comfortable working with complex data using Excel skills for forecasting.

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent career experience.
  • Understanding of commercial terms and processes, including cost build-ups, margin, contingency and escalation.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, particularly for analysis, modelling and forecasting.
  • Strong written communication and process-documentation skills.
  • An interest in commercial analysis, tendering, continuous improvement and data-driven decision-making.
