What you'll be doing
Supporting the planning and day-to-day delivery of temporary mechanical site servicesWorking closely with Project Engineers and Supervisors to ensure works are completed safely and effectivelyFollowing Work Package Plans, Risk Assessments, Task Briefing Sheets and toolbox talksIdentifying hazards and proactively implementing appropriate controlsAssisting in maintaining high standards of health, safety and environmental complianceInspecting and maintaining plant, equipment and small tools before useSupporting quality assurance activities, including BIM Field 360 inspectionsMonitoring workmanship and promoting a Right First Time cultureReporting non-conformances and supporting continuous improvement initiativesReviewing plant and tool requirements and identifying future site needsHighlighting opportunities for efficiency improvements and reducing material wasteSupporting the delivery of Balfour Beatty's sustainability commitments
Who we're looking for
EssentialValid CSCS CardNVQ/SVQ Level 2 in Building Services Engineering or equivalentExperience of temporary mechanical installationsGood understanding of current health and safety legislationStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamComfortable taking ownership of tasks and seeing them through to completionAbility to communicate safe systems of work clearly and effectivelyFlexible approach to working hours, including nights and weekends when requiredUnderstanding of mechanical specifications, inspection and test plans, and construction tolerancesCommitment to maintaining high standards of quality, safety and performanceDesirableExperience delivering high-quality mechanical installations on major projectsFirst Aid at Work qualificationFull UK driving licenceExperience managing work packages from commencement through to handoverA desire to develop professionally, including working towards Appointed Person (AP) statusStrong problem-solving and decision-making skills with a solutions-focused approach
