The Role
A well-established M&E contractor is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Graduate Estimator to join their growing pre-construction team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate looking to develop a long-term career within the building services and construction industry.
The successful candidate will support the preparation of accurate and competitive cost estimates for a range of commercial, industrial, and residential M&E projects, working alongside experienced estimators within a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation of cost estimates and tender submissions for mechanical and electrical projects
Analyse drawings, specifications, and tender documentation
Carry out quantity take-offs and cost analysis
Obtain and assess supplier and subcontractor quotations
Support senior estimators with pricing exercises and bid strategy development
Maintain accurate estimating records and project data
Liaise with internal departments, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors
Assist with the ongoing review of project costs and commercial information
Requirements
Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline
Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Motivated, proactive, and eager to learn within a fast-paced environment
Desirable
Understanding of mechanical and electrical building services systems
Previous internship, placement, or work experience within construction or estimating
Familiarity with estimating software packages
Qualifications
Degree in Quantity Surveying, Building Services Engineering, Construction Management, or similar relevant subject
