A high-performing and oversubscribed secondary school in Leicestershire is seeking to appoint an ambitious and inspiring Head of Faculty for Modern Foreign Languages on a full-time permanent basis from August 2026.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced MFL teacher and leader to take the next step within a thriving and well-supported department where languages continue to grow in popularity and achievement across the school.
The successful candidate will lead a successful MFL faculty delivering both Spanish and French across KS3 and KS4 and must be confident teaching Spanish to GCSE level. The school is looking for a passionate practitioner and strong middle leader who can drive high standards of teaching and learning while continuing to develop an engaging and ambitious MFL curriculum.
This role would suit an individual with a proven track record of curriculum leadership, excellent classroom practice and the ability to motivate both students and staff within a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.

Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and develop the Modern Foreign Languages faculty
* Teach Spanish across KS3 and KS4 to a high standard
* Support curriculum development and departmental improvement
* Drive strong GCSE outcomes and student engagement
* Mentor and support teaching staff within the department
* Promote a positive and inclusive learning culture
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* Experience teaching Spanish within a secondary school setting
* Previous middle leadership or departmental responsibility experience
* Strong classroom management and communication skills
* Passion for language learning and curriculum innovation
* Ability to inspire students and staff alike
* Experience teaching French would be advantageous
