Are you a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer looking for an opportunity to work on highly technical, mission-critical products?
I'm currently recruiting for a leading technology and engineering business who are great opportunity to join an established engineering team where you'll have genuine influence over manufacturing processes, product introduction and continuous improvement.
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you'll be responsible for developing, improving and supporting manufacturing processes from product introduction through to production.
You'll be involved in:
Developing and maintaining manufacturing processes, routings and work instructions.
Supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) and design-for-manufacture activities.
Designing and implementing tooling, fixtures and manufacturing equipment.
Investigating manufacturing issues and carrying out root cause analysis.
Implementing corrective and preventative actions.
Driving Lean / Continuous Improvement / Operational Excellence initiatives.
Working closely with Design Engineering, Production and Quality teams.
Supporting and developing Manufacturing Engineering Technicians.
Improving manufacturing quality, efficiency, cost and repeatability.
Using modern technology and AI tools where appropriate to improve engineering productivity and decision-making.Essential experience includes:
Manufacturing Engineering experience within a production environment.
A degree, HNC/HND or equivalent experience in Manufacturing Engineering or a related discipline.
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and engineering principles.
Hands-on experience with mechanical/electronic assembly.
Experience with metalwork, fixings, thermal materials and circuit card integration.
Knowledge of IPC-A-610 Class 3 and J-STD-001.
Hand soldering experience.
Experience with tooling, fixtures or press-fit applications.
Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
Experience with MRP/ERP systems - SAP would be advantageous.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work with multiple stakeholders.Desirable experience
Any of the following would be advantageous:
Defence or aerospace manufacturing experience.
Lean Manufacturing / Operational Excellence.
PFMEA / DFMEA.
5S, 5 Whys or Value Stream Mapping.
Conformal coating, underfill or overfill.
PVA, Asymtek or GPD equipment.
Valor software.
De-paneling.
Experience with highly regulated or high-reliability products.The package includes:

Security clearance: Due to the nature of the work, the successful candidate will need to meet relevant security and export-control requirements. BPSS/SC clearance may be required depending on the specific position.
