About the role

Electrical Assembly & Test Technician Are you an experienced Electrical Assembly & Test Technician looking for a varied, hands-on role within a specialist engineering environment? We are recruiting for an Electrical Assembly & Test Technician to join a busy engineering team working on bespoke industrial machinery. This is a practical role covering complete machine wiring, electrical assembly, functional testing and fault-finding, as well as supporting wider electrical projects across the facility. The Role You will play a key role in bringing complex machinery together, ensuring electrical systems are correctly installed, wired and tested before commissioning. Your responsibilities will include: Wiring and connecting complete electrical systems across machinery Installing and connecting sensors, motors, actuators and electrical interconnects Carrying out functional testing, I/O checks and basic electrical fault-finding Verifying signal paths and checking safe operation prior to software upload and HMI integration Working from electrical schematics, layout drawings and structured BOMs Supporting electrical installation work around the facility, including lighting circuits, distribution boards and equipment upgrades Assisting with new machinery installations and electrical improvement projects Working closely with other engineering departments during machine build, routing, alignment and system integration Maintaining high standards of safety, workmanship and build quality About You We're looking for someone with: A solid background in machine wiring, electrical assembly or industrial electrical work Strong ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and wiring documentation Practical experience with control devices, drives, sensors and motors Experience with DOL and VFD configurations The ability to confidently identify and resolve electrical faults during build and testing A flexible approach, comfortable working between workshop-based machine build and wider electrical support A positive attitude and strong team-working skills Excellent attention to detail and pride in the quality of your work Desirable Experience It would be advantageous if you have: Previous electrical installation experience in an industrial, commercial or domestic environment 18th Edition or equivalent electrical qualification Experience with automation systems, PLC/HMI architecture or drive commissioning tools A background in food machinery, process equipment or OEM manufacturing What's on Offer?
