In FY25, our shared passion helped us achieve combined revenues of approximately 4bn.Our extensive direct to store (DTS) network, with 17 depots across the UK, allows us to deliver fresh and frozen food both our own and from trusted partners to thousands of stores every day, ensuring consumers enjoy the very best, whenever and wherever they shop.Our site in Kiveton employs over 600 and is the UK’s largest quiche bakery, producing more than 42 million quiche each year along with a wide range of ready meals and soups.What you'll be doing4 on / 4 off - days 05:30-17:30As a Quality Assurance Manager your role will be to lead and co-ordinate the work of the quality assurance teams to deliver and implement service improvement, in line with operational day to day needs with regards to safety, quality, legality and customer requirements.Direct the team to deliver the quality management system including the internal audit plan in order to ensure compliance with customer, manufacturing unit, legislative, divisional and strategic requirementsProvide information and demonstrate operational practice in support of external audits to enable compliance with customer requirementsContinue to develop the capability of the Quality Assurance team through the technical strategyMonitor departmental key performance indicators adjusting team activity to ensure targets are achievePlan and maintain resource utilisation to advise the required quality assurance tasksLead and deliver a project(s) to create business effectiveness and cost efficiencyBuilding production capability and understanding to achieve relevant technical requirementsEnsure that a safe working environment exists for all colleagues and that as a minimum the department meets the standards set out in the Health Safety and Environment PolicyWhat we’re looking forWe’re proud to be recognised in the Gender Equity Measure Top 100 for our commitment to gender equality.Educated to degree level with a Food specialism or equivalent qualification (or has relevant work experience)Has previous internal audit experienceHolds an intermediate Food Hygiene certificate level 3 and level 3 Health and SafetyExperience in a food manufacturing environmentAbility to use computer programmes including Word, Excel and related technical IT packagesKnowledge of the HACCP principles and practiceKnowledge of allergen awareness-implications / related to labelling and nutritional awarenessDemonstratable shelf-life determination and awarenessExperience and knowledge of hygiene and disinfection principlesCan demonstrate basic micro awarenessKnowledgeable about the principles of risk assessmentKnowledgeable about legal labelling as a basic requirementBasic knowledge of weight legislationKnowledge of technical key performance indicatorsThese may be trained or developed.
