About the role
Job Description
Scientist – Target Validation Immunology // Oxford
Make your application after reading the following skill and qualification requirements for this position.
You are an innovative immunologist with experience validating novel therapeutic targets in primary immune cell systems. You enjoy designing and executing mechanistic experiments, applying gene-editing technologies, and generating robust biological evidence that drives drug discovery decisions.
We are partnering with an exciting Oxford-based biotech combining human genetics, immunology, and drug discovery to identify and validate novel targets for the treatment of immune-mediated diseases. Their work sits at the intersection of cutting-edge target discovery and translational biology, with strong momentum across multiple programmes.
THE ROLE:
As a Scientist, Target Validation Immunology, you will be responsible for designing and executing experiments to validate genetically-supported targets in clinically relevant immune cell systems. This is a highly hands-on role, focused on translating biological hypotheses into compelling datasets through the use of primary human immune cells, functional immunology assays, and CRISPR-based perturbation approaches.
Working closely with genetics, computational biology, and drug discovery teams, you will play a key role in determining which targets progress into the pipeline. This position offers the opportunity to contribute directly to high-value programme decisions while developing deep expertise in translational immunology and target validation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Apply CRISPR-based approaches (knockout, knockdown, and gene modulation) to investigate target biology and mechanism of action
ABOUT YOU:
xwzovoh
- PhD or equivalent industry experience in Immunology, Cell Biology, Functional Genomics, or a related discipline
LOGISTICS:
- Location: Oxford (on-site)
If you're excited by translating human biology into therapeutic opportunities and using primary immune cell and CRISPR-based approaches to validate the next generation of drug targets, we'd love to hear from you.
