Electrical Project Manager - Local Government
Location: Liverpool

Rate: £450 p/day
Contract length: 6 Months with possibility to extend
This local government is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to support and lead electrical infrastructure and building services projects across our diverse and high‑profile estate. This is a unique opportunity to work on critical operational assets that keep our region moving, including the Mersey Tunnels, bus depots, ferry terminals, and wider transport facilities.
🔧 About the Role
As an Electrical Project Manager, you will play a key role in delivering safe, compliant, and technically robust electrical projects. You will oversee the full life cycle of electrical works, from technical scoping through to delivery, ensuring high standards and minimal disruption to live operational environments.
Your responsibilities will include:
Managing electrical condition surveys and reporting
Overseeing LV distribution upgrades, lighting, emergency lighting, fire alarm interfaces, containment, switchgear and power supplies
Coordinating electrical testing, remedial works and wider infrastructure improvements
Developing technical briefs, reviewing designs and managing consultants and contractors
Planning and supervising works within live operational environments
Ensuring compliance with BS 7671, electrical safety regulations and statutory requirements
Supporting risk management, asset replacement planning and safe project delivery
Engaging with internal and external stakeholders across multiple operational sites⭐ What We're Looking For
We're seeking a candidate with strong technical capability and confidence working across complex, safety‑critical environments. You will bring:
Solid knowledge of electrical systems, LV infrastructure and building services
Strong understanding of BS 7671, inspection and testing requirements
Experience delivering electrical projects within operational or transport‑related estates
Ability to manage contractors, consultants and multiple work streams
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
