English Teacher (January 2027 MPS-UPS + TLR)

Location: North West London Start Date: January 2027 Contract: Long-term / Full-Time Duration: January 2027 – End of Academic Year Subject: English Salary: Competitive daily rate, dependent on experience About the Role We are seeking a passionate and committed English Teacher to join the school from January 2027 on a long-term basis, continuing through to the end of the academic year. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic English teacher to join a supportive secondary school environment and make a genuine impact on students' academic progress and confidence. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and challenging English lessons across KS3 and KS4, helping students develop strong literacy skills, analytical thinking and a genuine appreciation of English Literature and Language. Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured English lessons across KS3 and KS4. Teach English Language and Literature in line with the school curriculum. Prepare students effectively for GCSE examinations. Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of students with a range of abilities. Establish a positive and well-managed classroom environment. Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback. Work collaboratively with the English department and wider teaching team. Support students with SEND and varying levels of literacy. Contribute to the wider life of the school and maintain high expectations of behaviour and achievement. The Ideal Candidate The school is looking for an English teacher who is: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. Experienced teaching English at secondary level. Confident teaching KS3 and KS4. Strong in both English Language and Literature. Able to deliver engaging and differentiated lessons. A confident classroom practitioner with strong behaviour management skills. Passionate about raising student attainment and developing literacy. Reliable, professional and committed to a long-term role. Able to build positive relationships with students and colleagues.
