What You’ll Be Doing * Leading the team: Line manage, coach and develop Construction & Plumbing staff, driving teaching quality and continuous improvementRaising standards: Maintain high expectations for learner behaviour, attendance and professionalism so every leaver is genuinely work-ready. * Growing provision: Identify employer and market needs, build partnerships with local contractors and SMEs and develop responsive curriculumDriving quality: Lead self-assessment and quality improvement planning, monitoring retention, achievement and learner progress. * Supporting learners: Ensure robust induction, effective tutorials, purposeful ILPs and wraparound support that promotes success and wellbeing. * Managing resources: Oversee budgets, equipment and timetabling to support curriculum delivery and growth. * Shaping strategy: Contribute to campus priorities, cross-college initiatives and curriculum development beyond your immediate team. What You’ll Bring Essential * Substantial industry experience in Construction, Plumbing or a closely related trade * Proven leadership or management experience in further education (FE), training or an industry setting * A track record of driving quality, standards and team performance * Strong understanding of vocational curriculum, awarding body requirements and compliance * Confident communicator with employers, learners and senior stakeholders * Ability to use data to monitor performance and drive improvement * Commitment to equality, diversity, inclusion and safeguarding * Teaching qualification, or relevant vocational qualifications at Level 3 or above Even Better If You Have… * Experience managing Construction or trade-related programmes in an FE environment * Established networks with local employers, contractors or apprenticeship providers * Experience of Ofsted preparation, self-assessment or quality improvement planning * A coaching or leadership qualification * Awareness of T Level or apprenticeship pathways in Construction What Makes This Role Different This isn’t a role where you manage from a distance.
