Mechanical Supervisor

Mechanical Supervisor Location: Halifax Job Type: Permanent Hours: 40 hours per week Sector: Facilities Management / Public Sector Our client, a leading Facilities Management provider, is looking to appoint an experienced Mechanical Supervisor to support a large public sector site in Halifax. You will supervise a multi-skilled maintenance team and service partners, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of critical building services across the site. This is a hands-on supervisory role suited to someone with a strong mechanical background who can provide technical support to engineers while overseeing day-to-day maintenance activity. Key Responsibilities Supervise and support a multi-skilled maintenance team Oversee planned and reactive mechanical maintenance Ensure plant inspections, servicing and repairs are completed effectively Maintain compliance with Health & Safety, site procedures and contractual requirements Provide technical support to engineers across mechanical systems Support planned shutdowns and maintenance works Liaise with site management and other stakeholders to minimise disruption Maintain accurate maintenance and compliance records Support internal and external audits Monitor materials, equipment and resources to ensure efficient service delivery Requirements Mechanical bias, including HVAC, Plumbing, Gas or similar Minimum NVQ Level 3 mechanical qualification Previous experience within a Supervisor or Team Leader position Strong commercial building maintenance experience Good understanding of PPM and reactive maintenance Previous Authorised Person experience, or willingness to undertake AP responsibilities Previous experience within public sector, PFI or critical environments would be advantageous Benefits Competitive salary 24 days annual leave Life assurance Gym membership discounts Holiday purchase scheme Ongoing training and professional developmentThis is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established FM contract within a large public sector environment, leading an experienced maintenance team on a permanent basis
