If speculative CVs are sent, no fee will be applicable – please direct all queries to the relevant Resourcing Partner.Fire Alarm Designer – Asset IntelligenceLocation - Warrington (Headquarters) Hybrid working model and Site travel Site Locations: Scunthorpe, Grimsby, Boston, Lincoln.We are looking for someone who is happy to travel across these areas with hybrid working. What you will be doing:An opportunity has arisen for a Fire Alarm Designer to join the team Asset Intelligence at Galliford Try.This role offers the opportunity to work on some of the UK’s most prestigious frameworks, with a focus on driving project success through effective commercial governance.Key Responsibilities:Design & Technical DeliveryDevelop fire alarm and detection system designs based on client requirements and site surveysProduce detailed design documentation including: Detector layouts, PA/VA systems, and zone drawingsCause & effect, loop schematics, panel layoutsFire strategies and calculationsEnsure designs comply with relevant standards (e.g. BS5839, BS6266, BS7671, BS7273)Value engineer solutions to balance cost-effectiveness with compliance and performanceProvide technical input into subcontract design packages and supplier ordersProject & Stakeholder ManagementLead or support site visits, surveys, and 3D model reviewsAct as a point of contact for subcontract designersReview subcontractor designs, pricing, and specifications for accuracy and qualityCollaborate closely with internal teams to support tender submissions and project deliveryManage design changes and ensure adherence to scope and change control processesQuality & ComplianceEnsure all design processes and procedures are followedContribute to design management plans and design programmesSupport fire accreditation documentationAssist with smooth handover to construction and commissioning teamsAbout You:Proven experience in fire systems design, including detection, PA/VA, suppression, and fire stoppingStrong knowledge of system integration and fire equipmentFamiliarity with BIM / PAS 1192 and navigating 3D modelsExperience producing technical documentation (URS/FDS)Knowledge of CDM regulations and temporary worksProficiency in AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Microsoft OfficeONC / HNC / Degree or NVQ equivalent in a relevant disciplineOrganised, proactive, and detail-orientedStrong communication and stakeholder management skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentCommitted to delivering excellent customer serviceWhat We Can Offer in Return:With an impressive order book of over 4.1 billion we are one of the industry’s leading principal contractors, affording you the opportunity to work on some of the UK’s most exciting projects offering you stability as well as the chance to stretch your capabilities and realise long held career goals.
