Graduate Project Engineer
Location: Newry, Northern Ireland (Projects across Northern Ireland)
We are seeking a motivated Graduate Project Engineer to join a leading utilities infrastructure contractor, supporting the delivery of wastewater infrastructure projects across Northern Ireland. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience across both site and office environments while developing a long-term career in essential utilities infrastructure.
The Role:
As a Graduate Project Engineer, you will support the planning, coordination, and delivery of wastewater projects from design through to construction and commissioning. You will work closely with Project Managers, site teams, subcontractors, and clients to ensure successful project delivery across multiple live sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the delivery of wastewater and water infrastructure projects across Northern Ireland.
- Assist with project planning, scheduling, and progress reporting.
- Coordinate with site teams, designers, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Prepare technical documentation, reports, RFIs, and site records.
- Attend site visits, inspections, and progress meetings across project locations.
- Support health & safety, environmental, and quality compliance on site.
- Assist with procurement, materials tracking, and project administration.
- Develop technical knowledge of wastewater treatment and infrastructure systems.
- Build strong working relationships with clients and stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management.
- Graduate or up to 2 years’ experience in engineering or construction (utilities experience preferred).
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to travel to sites across Northern Ireland.
- Proactive attitude with a desire to learn and develop.
- Full UK driving license (preferred).
