The role:

• As Category Manager you will lead the growth of a key category driving strategic growth, commercial performance and development of the category.
• The Category Manager will own the category strategy, growth roadmap and performance, identifying and prioritizing opportunities for growth
• Managing the supply base the Category Manager will manage strategic supplier partnerships that support category innovation and commercial growth
• The Category Manager will develop practical project plans and will drive implementation across stores e gaging with store and regional teams.
• The Category Manager will analyse category performance identifying trends, performance gaps and opportunities for growth
• In the role the Category Manager will work collaboratively with multiple functions including marketing and operations to deliver initiatives that support category performance

Ideal candidate:

• This Category Manager role is ideal for a commercial individual who has FMCG buying and category planning experience gained from UK food major retailers.
• You will have a proven track record of developing and delivering a successful category strategy that delivers growth in sales and profit.
• It is essential to be able to demonstrate the ability to deliver cross functional initiatives and drive implementation across multiple stakeholders
• In addition, you will demonstrate a passion for the customer, product and a flair for commerciality
• Working as part of a team you must have excellent relationship building skills you will be able to communicate and influence with internal and external stakeholders.
• As Category Manager you must have good insight and data analysis skills and be able to action opportunities to drive sales and profit
• You will have excellent planning and organization skills and will be able to work independently on your own initiative, a self-starter with can-do attitude
• For the Category Manager role it is essential that you are an excellent communicator and the type of individual who makes things happen
