Senior Practitioner - Specialist Exploitation Team
About the role
Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a new permanent position available for a Senior Practitioner within the Specialist Exploitation Team to work full time based in Redbridge.
The salary for this permanent Senior Practitioner role is up to £58,323per annum.
Main duties:
- Identify and assess exploitation risks (criminal & sexual), including county lines, gangs, trafficking and peer-on-peer abuse, using exploitation screening tools and intelligence from police, schools & partners.
- Undertake statutory safeguarding work under s17 (CIN) and s47 (CP) of the Children Act 1989, progressing cases to Child Protection & court where thresholds are met.
- Apply contextual safeguarding, assessing risks in places, peer groups and networks (schools, parks, transport hubs), not just within the family home.
- Work directly with young people, building trusted relationships, completing safety planning, disruption work, return-home interviews and motivational interventions to reduce harm.
- Coordinate multi-agency responses, including chairing or contributing to MASE panels, working closely with police, youth justice, education, health and specialist exploitation services.
- Support and advice families & carers, helping them understand exploitation risks, strengths protective factors and manage complex behaviours.
- Lead on disruption and protection planning, including intelligence-led actions, civil orders where appropriate, and escalation to legal planning meetings and care proceedings when required.
- Maintain robust recording and analysis, evidencing risk, patterns of exploitation and outcomes to inform safeguarding and strategic responses.
Requirements of this Senior Practitioner Job.
- Degree or Equivalent in Social Work.
- Current Social Work England Registration.
- Post Qualifying Social Work Experience.
