Job Type: Freelance Start Date: Immediate Industry: Construction / Main Contracting Location: Arundel Salary & Package: Negotiable The Role & About the Client ITS Building People are currently recruiting for an experienced Freelance Assistant Site Manager on behalf of a well-established construction contractor delivering a major construction project in Arundel. This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected contractor working on an 18-month project. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the Site Manager with the day-to-day management and delivery of the project, ensuring works are delivered safely, to programme and to the required quality standards. Key Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To: Supporting the Site Manager with the day-to-day running of the project. Managing and coordinating subcontractors and site trades. Monitoring progress and ensuring works are delivered to programme. Checking drawings, specifications and construction information. Carrying out regular quality inspections and ensuring works meet specification. Assisting with site logistics, materials and deliveries. Ensuring works are completed in accordance with health and safety requirements. Maintaining accurate site records and documentation. Liaising with the Site Manager, Project Manager, subcontractors and wider site team. Assisting with snagging, handover and completion activities. Supporting the successful delivery of the project to programme. The Ideal Candidate Will Have: Previous experience working as an Assistant Site Manager on construction projects. Commercial construction experience is essential. Residential or general building experience is highly desirable. Strong understanding of construction processes and site operations. Experience managing subcontractors and site trades. Good understanding of quality control and health and safety procedures. CSCS Card (essential). SMSTS (essential). First Aid at Work (essential). Full UK Driving Licence. Strong communication and organisational skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a wider site team.
