Corporate Associate, 2 to 4 PQE, £64,000 to £70,000, national firm, Leeds

A Leeds-based role in a corporate team that is being actively grown. That growth is what has created the opening, and it means there is genuine scope to progress through the ranks quickly rather than wait behind a settled senior tier.

The work is M&A led but broad for a regional seat. It takes in private equity deals for investing institutions and management teams, public company transactions including IPOs and equity fundraisers, business sales, joint ventures and corporate reorganisations. You will lead as well as support, running due diligence and disclosure exercises, drafting the principal documents on restructurings, shareholders' agreements and joint ventures, and getting early direct contact with clients.

The Leeds team sits within a wider national corporate practice, so it can pull in bigger and more varied deal flow than a standalone local outfit. That means quality work without leaving Yorkshire, and room to carve out a specialism, whether that is private equity, equity capital markets or a particular sector, rather than being held to a narrow slice of the caseload.
