About the role
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Procurement Manager to take responsibility for procurement across a major UK operation.
This is a key role for a commercially minded procurement professional with a strong civils, infrastructure, construction or engineering background, who can take ownership of procurement strategy, supplier relationships, contracts and cost performance across a complex operational environment.
The Role
Reporting to the Head of UK, you will be responsible for:

Developing and implementing an effective procurement strategy.
*
Managing key suppliers, vendors and subcontractors.
*
Sourcing and engaging reliable suppliers.
*
Negotiating competitive commercial terms and contracts.
*
Reviewing and managing existing supplier agreements.
*
Working closely with Technical, Project, Terminal and operational teams.
*
Assessing procurement and contractual risks.
*
Identifying and delivering long-term cost savings.
*
Managing procurement performance through appropriate KPIs.
*
Ensuring procurement activity meets relevant regulatory and best-practice requirements.
*
Approving purchase orders and coordinating the delivery of goods and services.
*
Reporting procurement performance to senior management.
*
Providing leadership and support to the procurement function.
About You
We are looking for an experienced procurement professional who can demonstrate:
*
Proven experience in procurement within civils, construction, infrastructure, engineering or a similar environment.
*
Strong experience managing suppliers, subcontractors and vendor relationships.
*
Excellent commercial negotiation and contract management skills.
*
Experience developing procurement strategies and delivering measurable cost savings.
*
Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work across technical, project and operational teams.
*
Previous experience managing or leading people.
*
Good understanding of procurement risk, compliance and Health & Safety requirements.
*
Strong communication, negotiation and organisational skills.
*
A proactive, decisive and commercially focused approach.
*
Good IT skills.
*
A degree-level qualification is desirable, but not essential where the candidate can demonstrate strong relevant procurement and commercial experience.
*
Full UK driving licence.
