WHAT TO EXPECT  We are looking for a Test Methods Engineer to provide robust technical knowledge of Software function, Electrical and EMC test standards to fine-tune the content of an application test plan.  You will be responsible for the review of Jaguar Land Rover standards, industry standards and supplier proposals for Electrical and EMC to support supplier technical queries and negotiations during sourcing and delivery. Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities Support the test process during development and production release phases for Power Electronic components with application on numerous electrified Powertrain programmesEnsure robust test methods are developed and realised to achieve Program milestones and targets (Risk Identification, Quality / Functional defect detection & removal, and timing)Work with a ‘Statement of Requirements’ and highlight our test needs during supplier sourcing discussionsFamiliarity with requirements management toolchain and what makes a good requirementCreation, review and release of Power Electronics specific Electrical test standards within the Jaguar Land Rover corporate test standards databaseReview of existing test methods against requirements, test standards and lessons learntDevelop/customise test methods to align with new/modified requirements and continuous improvementSupport the commission of new and modified test cases via the test implementation engineers, covering component software test benches and functional load rigs and Electrical/EMC rigs Support test delivery and take feedback from test implementation engineers via lessons learnt process to ensure test methods are optimised Knowledge, Skills and Experience Essential –    Relevant engineering discipline or in associated subjects such as electrical/electronic engineering or other related technical qualificationsExperience in automotive powertrain engineering in a test environment covering software and load rigsFamiliarity with electrical, EMC, climatic, environmental & lifetime test techniquesAn understanding of the correlation process between real-world use profile and accelerated testingWide knowledge of electronic devices and circuits and their application, including design for EMC and circuit board robustness for environmental noise factors such as condensationUnderstanding of control systems hardware, sensor technology, control software and diagnosticsExperience in test virtualisation, CAE correlation, component rig test, system test and vehicle testingExperience in writing Design Validation Methods (DVM) from the requirements and also peer review of requirements during the requirements maturation processBasic experience in test automation for powertrain load rigs including dyno systemsStrong people skills and the ability to work individually and in a cross-functional teamUnderstanding of control systems hardware, including sensor technology, control software and diagnostics Working knowledge of the design and release process for safety-critical automotive components and systems Desirable –  Knowledge of typical BEV, MHEV and PHEV system solutions and technologiesUnderstanding of regulatory needs applicable to BEV and PHEV solutionsExperience with complex high voltage systemsExperience in operating and debugging dSpace HiL rigs in powertrain applications.
