About the role
Our client is a well-established, multi-office accountancy practice providing a range of accountancy, audit and taxation services to a diverse portfolio of clients. Due to continued requirements within their Corporate department, they are seeking an experienced Audit Senior to join their team. The role offers a varied workload across audit, accounts and taxation, with responsibility for supporting junior team members and working closely with the Portfolio Manager.
Role Overview - Audit Senior
Assist the Portfolio Manager with the management and delivery of client assignments.
Plan and lead audits, working with a mixed team or independently where appropriate.
Ensure audit plans and programmes are followed and liaise with the Audit Manager regarding on-site work.
Monitor and assist audit trainees throughout assignments.
Review and prepare accounts as required.
Prepare tax returns and ensure submissions are completed within relevant deadlines.
Monitor control files and report progress to the Portfolio Manager.
Attend client meetings and maintain strong client relationships.
Train Accounts trainees and monitor their progress.
Assist with staff allocations, billing and monitoring work in progress.
Assist clients with accounting software and computer-related queries.
Correspond with clients and external agencies, including HMRC.
Provide wider support to the accounts and audit team as required.
Role Requirements- Audit Senior
Previous accountancy practice experience with a strong audit background.
Experience planning and leading audit assignments.
Good knowledge of accounts preparation and taxation.
Experience supervising or training junior staff.
Strong communication, organisational and client-facing skills.
Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
AAT, ACA or ACCA qualification/studies advantageous, although relevant experience will be considered.
Salary & Benefits - Audit Senior
£34,000 - £39,000, dependent on experience.
Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm.
Friday early finish between 3:00pm - 5:00pm, subject to weekly hours being completed.
20 - 25 days' holiday + bank holidays, dependent on level.
8% employer pension contribution.
