Depot & Fleet Manager Location: Godalming, Surrey Company: Amber-RTM Hours: Full time, depot based Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience The role Amber-RTM is looking for a practical, organised manager to take day-to-day responsibility for our Godalming depot. You will keep the depot, vehicles and equipment ready for work, support our traffic management operatives, and help produce and maintain signs for jobs. This is a hands-on middle management role suited to someone who is comfortable working with both depot staff and the operational management team. Key responsibilities * Manage the daily running, organisation, security and presentation of the Godalming depot. * Oversee the depot-based fleet, including vehicle checks, servicing, repairs, defect reporting and availability. * Liaise with drivers, operatives, suppliers and repairers to resolve vehicle and equipment issues promptly. * Monitor traffic management equipment and stock, ensuring it is maintained, accounted for and ready for deployment. * Produce, apply and maintain traffic management sign graphics and lettering as required, working from approved layouts and specifications. * Act as a day-to-day point of contact for operatives, helping resolve practical depot, vehicle and equipment matters. * Support the operations team with job preparation, returns and the efficient movement of vehicles and equipment. * Maintain clear records of fleet work, defects, stock and depot activity. * Promote safe working practices and raise operational or compliance concerns with the relevant manager. About you You will have experience supervising a depot, fleet, yard or similar operational environment. You should be well organised, confident dealing with people, and willing to get involved in practical work. Experience in traffic management, highways, construction logistics or sign production would be particularly useful. You will need a full UK driving licence and be comfortable using basic digital systems to maintain records and communicate with the wider team.
