Deputy Manager – Solo EBD Home Location: Coventry Salary: £17.00 per hour Hours: Full-time Job Type: Permanent We are looking for a dedicated, compassionate and motivated Deputy Manager to join our team at a specialist solo EBD (Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties) home. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced care professional who is passionate about supporting young people and wants to take the next step in their career. About the Role As Deputy Manager, you will work closely with the Registered Manager to ensure the home provides a safe, nurturing and consistent environment where the young person can develop, build confidence and achieve positive outcomes. You will play an important role in supporting the day-to-day running of the home, providing leadership to staff and helping to maintain high standards of care. Key Responsibilities * Support the Registered Manager with the day-to-day management of the home. * Provide strong leadership, guidance and support to the care team. * Develop positive and trusting relationships with the young person. * Promote the young person's emotional wellbeing, independence and personal development. * Support staff to follow care plans, risk assessments and safeguarding procedures. * Ensure records, daily logs and other documentation are completed accurately. * Respond appropriately to challenging or distressed behaviour using agreed strategies. * Take responsibility for the home in the absence of the Registered Manager. * Support staff induction, training, supervision and development. * Work effectively with families, social workers, education providers and other professionals. * Ensure the home operates in line with relevant policies, procedures and regulatory requirements. About You We are looking for someone who is: * Experienced in working with children or young people with EBD/complex needs. * Confident leading and supporting a care team. * Calm, patient and able to remain professional in challenging situations. * A strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills. * Organised and able to manage competing priorities. * Passionate about safeguarding and improving outcomes for young people. * Reliable, committed and willing to lead by example. * Able to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends and sleep-ins where required. Desirable * Previous experience as a Senior Support Worker, Team Leader or Deputy Manager. * Experience working within a children's residential care setting. * Relevant Level 3 qualification in Children's Residential Care, Health & Social Care or equivalent. * Knowledge of safeguarding, care planning and positive behaviour support
