We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Chef/Cook to join our dynamic kitchen team. The successful candidate will be responsible for, assisting menu planning, ordering produce, costing, preparing and cooking a variety of dishes and daily changing specials within a fast-paced environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about classic British food with a modern twist. The ideal candidate will have relevant kitchen experience, a strong understanding of food safety standards, EHO requirements and a commitment to high-quality meal preparation. In a nutshell, we want a person who loves food, pub life and can bring something to our party.
Duties
Prepare ingredients and cook dishes according to recipes and quality standards
Assist in menu planning, ordering and menu preparation, ensuring timely delivery during busy service periods
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations in compliance with food safety regulations
Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, fryers, and grills
Monitor food stock levels and communicate needs for replenishment
Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with health and safety standards
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations and excellent customer service
Serve dishes promptly and professionally to guests, maintaining high standards of presentation
Requirements
Proven experience in fresh food preparation, cooking, or a similar role within a restaurant or catering environment
Knowledge of culinary techniques and meal preparation methods (NVQ level 2/3)
Understanding of food safety regulations and hygiene standards (EHO level 2)
Previous experience working in a busy kitchen setting is essential
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work as part of a team
Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and evenings as required
