Order Picker Location: Birmingham Salary: Competitive salary + Overtime rates Hours: - Monday – Thursday 07:30 – 16:00 | Friday – 07:30 – 12:30 McGeoch Technology Ltd. is a well-established and expanding manufacturing company based in Birmingham and due to their current projected growth, they are now looking to recruit for the position of Order Picker and Stock Control Operative. The successful applicant will be based at our client's production facility in Birmingham City Centre. The Role Reporting to the Logistics Manager and as part of the Logistics team, you will be responsible for kitting products using works orders according to a bill of materials, kitting shortages for production, supporting the despatch area when required such as packing, booking out stock, liaising with couriers and be responsible for carrying out daily stocktakes to ensure stock accuracy. The ideal candidate would be comfortable with physical work (including manual handling of up to 25kg), be a team player and possess good communication skills. Due to the nature of the role, you will be expected to work a reasonable amount of overtime to ensure that daily tasks are completed. Your duties will include but not be limited to the following; Kitting products using works orders according to a bill of materials. Carry out daily stocktakes to ensure stock accuracy. Kitting shortages for production. Issuing kits to production. Supporting the despatch area with packing, booking out stock and liaising with couriers. Ability to manually handle heavy goods. Liaising with assembly team leaders on products required. Be comfortable with standing for long periods of time. Experience in fast paced environments. Ability to measure using tools such as tape measures or verniers. Always maintain high working standards and work in a neat and conscientious manner. Ensuring all appropriate paperwork is completed according to standard operating procedures. Essential Requirements: Good time management skills. Good Communication Skills. Be able to work within a team and on own initiative. PPE is required to be worn at all times including safety boots and bump cap.
