SEN Swim Instructor (Part-Time) supporting a specialist SEN school Location: B21, Birmingham Salary: Competitive hourly rate – dependent on experience Job Type: Part-time | Term Time Only Hours: Flexible part-time hours - 1 day per week  About the Role Smile Education is currently supporting a specialist SEN school in recruiting a compassionate and enthusiastic SEN Swim Instructor to work with students aged 14–17. The school supports young people with a range of additional needs including autism, learning disabilities, communication difficulties, and sensory needs. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone passionate about inclusive education, wellbeing, and helping young people build confidence in the water. Key Responsibilities Deliver safe, engaging, and inclusive swimming lessons Adapt teaching methods to meet a range of SEN needs and abilities Promote water confidence, independence, and physical wellbeing Work closely with school staff and support assistants during sessions Maintain a calm, positive, and supportive environment Follow safeguarding, health & safety, and pool procedures at all timesRequirements ASA/STA Swim Teaching Qualification (or equivalent) Experience working with children or young people with SEN is desirable Patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach Strong communication and teamwork skills Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain oneDesirable Lifeguard qualification Previous experience within an SEN or school settingWhat’s on Offer Flexible part-time hours Supportive school environment Opportunity to make a meaningful impact on young people’s lives Ongoing support from Smile EducationApply Today To apply, please submit your CV along with a short cover note outlining your relevant experience and suitability for the role.
