Kitchen Assistant

We are seeking a hardworking and reliable Kitchen Assistant from November 2026 – May 2027. In this role, you will support our cook in ensuring our kitchen operates efficiently and safely. Your hours will be 9.15am – 1.15pm, Tuesday to Saturday.

Key Responsibilities

• Food Preparation: Assist our cook by peeling, washing and chopping vegetables and fruit.
• Cleanliness & Hygiene: Maintain strict hygiene standards by washing dishes, sanitising cutlery/utensils, and cleaning work surfaces, floors, and equipment.
• Basic cooking: Assist in the preparation of meals.
• Waste Disposal: Safely empty bins and manage kitchen waste disposal according to recycling and safety guidelines.

Requirements & Skills

• Experience: Previous experience in a kitchen or catering role is preferred but not essential.
• Food Safety Knowledge: A basic understanding of food hygiene regulations.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods and work under pressure.
• Personal Skills: Good communication, reliability and a positive attitude.
• Punctuality: Strong time-management skills are essential.
