Responsibilities include assessing and managing risk, supporting safety planning and self-management strategies, signposting callers to relevant NHS and community services, and escalating concerns to clinical teams when necessary. The role also involves maintaining accurate records on NHS systems and working collaboratively with NHS staff, police, and partner agencies to ensure individuals receive appropriate support and care. Building rapport quickly, offering reassurance, and demonstrating professionalism, empathy, and sound judgement will be essential.
The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator who remains calm under pressure, can confidently assess and respond to risk, and is committed to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of their work.
