Senior Mazak CNC Machinist / Programmer

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 16:30 (Flexible shift options available)
Overtime: Available and encouraged (1.5x hourly rate)
Location: Kintore, AB51 0XU (On-site / Must be able to commute reliably)

Critical Requirements (Apply Only If You Meet These)

Experience: Minimum 4 years of proven hands-on experience as a CNC Machinist operating and programming CNC lathes.
Mazak Expertise: Confident programming Mazak machines using Mazatrol conversational software and ISO (G-Code).
Precision Machining: Proven ability to work independently with extremely tight engineering tolerances and high-level precision measuring equipment.
Tooling & Planning: Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in tool selection, setup planning, and drawing interpretation.
Work Authorisation: Must hold valid UK Right to Work and a valid driver's licence.

About the Role

Due to continual business growth and investment in new machinery, Gall Engineering is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our Kintore team. You will be responsible for programming, setting, and operating Mazak CNC lathes, ensuring precision engineering projects are completed right first time, on schedule, and to strict client specifications.

Key Responsibilities

Machine Operation & Programming: Read, write, and edit ISO G-code and conversational programs for Mazak CNC lathes.
Quality Inspection: Maintain strict QHSE standards, performing detailed inspections on components using precision measuring tools.
Production & Tooling: Plan tooling setups, optimize cycle times, troubleshoot machining issues, and maximize yield.
Team Support: Work collaboratively within the team, assisting with the training and mentoring of junior operatives when required.
