Assistant Estimator (Construction) Birmingham City Centre £35,000 - £40,000 + Package + Career Progression We’re currently supporting a fantastic business in the search for an Assistant Estimator to join their growing team, working for a well-established main contractor with a strong reputation across the Midlands construction market. The business continues to secure a strong pipeline of work across multiple sectors and due to continued growth, they are now looking to strengthen their Pre-Construction team with the addition of an Assistant Estimator. Key Responsibilities * Assist in the preparation of detailed cost estimates and tender submissions * Support quantity take-offs from drawings, specifications, and BIM models * Gather and analyse data relating to labour, materials, and equipment costs * Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive quotations * Help maintain and update cost databases and historical pricing information * Work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, and Design teams throughout the pre-construction process * Attend site visits and internal meetings where required * Prepare reports and cost summaries for senior management * Support value engineering and risk assessment exercises What’s on Offer * Clear progression into Estimator and Senior Estimator positions * Exposure to a diverse range of construction projects * Ongoing training and development within estimating and pre-construction * Opportunity to work alongside experienced industry professionals * Supportive and collaborative team culture * Long-term stability with a strong pipeline of secured work * Flexible working arrangements About You * Degree, qualification, or training in Construction, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline * Previous construction experience, placement, or internship beneficial * Strong numerical and analytical skills * Motivated, proactive, and eager to develop within estimating and pre-construction This is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to join a successful contractor that genuinely invests in its people and offers long-term career development within a growing Pre-Construction team
