CMS Business Analyst (Client-Facing) | Headless CMS
Our client is seeking a client-facing CMS Business Analyst for an outside IR35 contract. The work forms part of a wider eCommerce programme for a customer in the leisure sector, moving from a Legacy CMS to a headless, cloud-hosted architecture. You will work directly with the client on site, lead workshops and turn business needs into clear requirements that shape the customer experience.
Scope of services
- Plan and lead client workshops to uncover goals, pain points, customer journeys and requirements
- Work on site with client stakeholders, building trusted relationships and managing expectations, scope and change
- Define and shape digital customer experiences, including journey mapping, content models and editorial workflows
- Capture and document business and functional requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria
- Support the move to a headless architecture, working with developers and solution architects on specifications and integrations
- Contribute BA expertise to Agile delivery, including backlog refinement, sprint planning and prioritisation
- Deliver process maps, wireframes and supporting documentation as required
- Support UAT, release planning and post-launch optimisation
Essential skills and experience
- Proven track record as a contract Business Analyst in client-facing digital or CMS engagements
- Hands-on experience with any headless CMS (for example Contentful, Contentstack, Storyblok, Sanity, Kontent.ai, or Umbraco headless)
- Strong workshop facilitation with senior and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience of defining customer experiences and journeys for web or eCommerce platforms
- Confident working on site with clients and presenting recommendations
- Excellent requirements gathering, including user stories and acceptance criteria
- Solid Agile/Scrum experience, using tools such as Jira and Confluence
Desirable
- Umbraco or another .NET-based CMS (Sitecore, Optimizely, Kentico)
- Experience of CMS migration, replatforming or upgrades
- Understanding of APIs and integrations (eCommerce, CRM, DAM, search)
- Knowledge of SEO, accessibility (WCAG) and content strategy
- BA or Agile certification (eg BCS, IIBA, PSPO/CSPO)
Why this engagement
- Outside IR35, confirmed by the client’s status determination
- Client-facing, workshop-led work on a headless and eCommerce transformation
- Hybrid arrangement with a sensible 2-day on-site commitment
- A strong consultancy environment with enterprise-level clients
Location: Central London (hybrid, 2 days per week on site with the client)
Engagement: Contract, Outside IR35
