Are you an engaging Humanities specialist looking for a substantial long-term placement with the benefit of regular income? We are seeking to appoint a passionate History and Politics Teacher for a highly regarded school community in Blackburn starting 1st September 2026.
This is a full-time, long-term contract role running for a minimum of two terms covering a planned absence. Unlike traditional permanent contracts, this role is processed via weekly timesheets, offering you reliable, prompt weekly remuneration. We welcome applications from experienced professionals looking to secure a top-tier daily rate equivalent up to MPS 6, as well as enthusiastic Early Career Teachers (ECTs) seeking a supportive environment to develop their practice.

Key Responsibilities:
Deliver high-quality, high-impact History lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (GCSE).
Plan and deliver the A-Level Government & Politics curriculum, guiding sixth-form students through complex political systems, ideologies, and contemporary global structures.
Maintain accurate tracking, assessment, and marking records in line with department expectations.
Foster an analytical, critical-thinking classroom environment where students feel confident debating and evaluating historical and political events.
Complete timesheets accurately and submit them weekly for prompt payment processing.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent UK recognised teaching qualification.
A relevant degree (History, Politics, International Relations, or standard Humanities pathways).
Strong subject knowledge of current GCSE exam specifications and A-Level Politics boards.
Excellent classroom management and the ability to hit the ground running in an active long-term post.
Reliability regarding administrative tasks, including punctual timesheet submissions.
